#31DaysOfWholloween

If you're new, every year we do a photo challenge in October called the "31 Days Of Wholloween"

The premise is simple, each day there is a prompt. You post a picture  related to that day's prompt on whatever social media platform you want  (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc) and use the hashtag  #31daysofWholloween You can get your pictures from wherever, and you can  join and an play along as much or as little as you like. If you miss a  day, you can catch up if you like, or just jump back in. Remember, this  is supposed to be fun, so we hope you join in!

*Unless the prompt is specific to a certain part of the Doctor Who  universe, you can answer from any part of Doctor Who including the TV  series (classic and new), comic books, Big Finish and spin-offs.

Have fun and we'll see you on the social medias on October 1st!

Congrats to the winner, Jackie Brady! Have fun at the show!

*We've extended the entry time an additional week to give folks more time to enter!

Next month is the return of Kokomo-Con! This single-day event will be happening on October 14th from 10am-6pm at the Kokomo Event & Conference Center. While this is a small, one-day show, it's still full of many of the things you'd expect from a convention: a cosplay contest (which I, Rachel, was a judge for the adults last year), toy and comic vendors, food, and special guests! This year's Guest of Honor is comic writer John Ostrander (Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Deadpool, Star Wars, among others). There will also be a charity auction, which last year raised $1400 for the Kokomo Humane Society! This year's charity auction will raise money for the Kokomo Humane Society and the Excelsior Scholarship Program.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend Kokomo-Con again this year, as it's the same weekend of Time Lord Expo. But, we wanted to offer YOU a chance to attend Kokomo-Con for FREE! We're giving away 1 pass (a $10 value) that will available for you at Will Call the day of the con.

-The contest will run through 12:00AM EST on October 8th.
-The winner will be notified in any/every way we can (Facebook messanger/email/Twitter). If we do not hear back from the winner within 24 hours, a new winner will be chosen.
-The winner will receive 1 pass to Kokomo-Con 2017. If you can't attend, please do not enter so that those who can attend get a chance at winning.
-Winner's name will be provided to Kokomo-Con and the pass will be available at "Will Call" when you attend the con.

Have fun! Good luck! Share with your friends! And make sure to send us a picture or two from the con!

Gen Con 50 Preview: Demos, Demos, Demos

-By Rachel

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a gamer. I play Farmville 2, Doctor Who Legacy and Frozen Freefall. I wouldn't know Settlers of Catan from D&D if my life depended upon it, so it might seem odd that I'd be attending Gen Con again this year. And while a majority of the Gen Con attendees spend all 4 days playing their game of choice, there's also the option to participate in demos of new games and maybe find a new favorite. Last year I discovered Happy Salmon and finally got to play the uber-popular Exploding Kittens. This year, I've got my eye on a few new games that I hope to try* during the "Greatest Four Days In Gaming":

-From Czech Games (Rooms 231 & 232): Codenames Duet and That's A Question! (if you want to get a jump on the crowds, both are available for pre-order and can be picked up at Gen Con)

Codenames Duet keeps the basic elements of Codenames — give one-word clues to try to get someone to identify your agents among those on the table — but now you're working together as a team to find all of your agents. (Why you don't already know who your agents are is a question that Congressional investigators will get on your back about later!)

The party game That's a Question!, takes the familiar format of challenging others with questions, then voting on what they'll say.

Czech Games Codenames DuetCzech Games That's A Question!

-From Breaking Games LLC (Booth #2329): Sparkle*Kitty

A fast-paced, fun-filled, family card game where players are princesses matching cards to cast hilarious spells to escape from their towers. Up to 8 princesses can play, so it's great for families, parties, and even fancy balls.

Sparkle*Kitty

-From USAopoly (Booth #149): Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle with the Monster Box of Monsters expansion and CODENAMES: Disney Family Editon

Play as your favorite characters and defend the wizarding world from evil forces. Enhance your abilities as you build your deck with over 140 cards. Seven successive game adventures offer increasing difficulty  as you battle Villains and unlock new abilities, secrets and challenges.

Venture into the Forbidden Forest with The Monster Box of Monsters, the highly anticipated expansion to HARRY POTTER™: HOGWARTS™ BATTLE! Play as Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville or Luna Lovegood™ as you face frightening creatures and challenging encounters. Beware of any wrongdoing that might earn you detention! Only working together to defeat the evil forces and protecting iconic locations will make the Wizarding World safe once and for all!

Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle Deck Building Game

The Disney Family Edition of Codenames combines the hit social word game with some of Disney’s most beloved properties from the past 90 years. Two Cluemasters give one-word clues to help their teammates identify the Disney characters, locations and items from a 25 card game grid.  Including both pictures and words, it’s family fun for Disney fans of all ages.

CODENAMES: Disney Family Edition

-From Big Potato Games (Booth #2115): The Chameleon

One secret word and 16 possible options. Everyone knows the secret word except for the Chameleon – but who is the Chameleon?
Your mission is simple. Using one word each, players must prove their innocence and catch out the imposter. But be careful: choose a word that’s too obvious and you might give away the secret word. Choose a word that’s too vague and people might start to think that you’re the guilty one.
Fresh from the mind of Rikki Tahta (Coup) and crafted by Big Potato, The Chameleon is a game of suspense, trickery and some serious mob mentality.

*Not every game that debuts at Gen Con is available for official demos in the companies' booth, sometimes you have to sign up like you would for other gaming. Always check the events catalog to see if signing up is necessary.

Gen Con 50 Preview: Dized Invites All GenCon Attendees To Sit Upon The Throne of Games

-By Rachel

Playmore Games, developers of Dized, the board game companion app that "removes the rulebooks and gets gamers playing right away" has announced that Dized will have a presence at this year's Gen Con. While the app launches on IndieGogo on August 28th, during Gen Con 50, Dized will construct a giant throne of games for attendee photos and one attendee will win the throne and all of the games after the show.

Daenerys My Reign Has Just Begun gif

Valued at more than $5000, Dized's Throne of Games will feature more than 100 new and classic board games, including Dominion, 7 Wonders, King of Tokyo, Pandemic, Catan, Smash Up and much more. The throne will be the showcase in the Dized booth (#2941) and attendees will have the opportunity to sit on the throne and have a photo (oh how I wish I had my Daenerys cosplay completed!) The winner of the Throne of Games will have it delivered to their home in a celebratory fashion.

"We wanted something big to celebrate Dized's upcoming launch on IndieGogo and Gen Con 50," says Jouni Jussila, Dized/Playmore Games CEO. "Dized's Throne of Games will be a must-do for everyone attending Gen Con. Who doesn't want to win a giant throne of board games!"

Dized launches via IndieGogo August 28, Sign-up is now open to receive news, early announcements and other promotions. For more information, visit dized.com.
