About Us!

Brittany

Hello, I am Brittany!  I am quite the geeky girl.  I spent my childhood watching a fair amount of TV shows/movies, which include Pokémon, Star Trek, Star Wars, Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Puff Girls, Disney, Star Wars, Back to the Future, plus many others.   Don’t get me started on the books that I have read…. Way too many to even begin to list.  Of course, none of that has change, now that I am an adult, I just have more obsessions, which include Doctor Who, Game Of Thrones, Marvel and DC comics. I never really believed in the whole “gender” thing when it came to shows, movies, books, toys, etc . I have always played video games, but never been very good at them. I like to call myself a "Wanna Be Gamer".

I have lived in many areas in the United States throughout my life, but I will always be a Jersey Girl.
My current location is in Eastern Pennsylvania.  I also spend time practicing my photography, which is a little hobby of mine.

Chrissy

Hello - it’s Chrissy from Salt Lake City, Utah! I’m a librarian by day, and a fangirl all the time. I’m super-excited for the Five(ish) Fangirls Podcast and to have this chance to share all my fangirl glee with the whole world! Many will know me as That One Girl Who Keeps Writing to the Traveling the Vortex Boys. Maybe you’ve read my blog, CJ’s Notebook. Perhaps you’ve run into my live-tweeting antics on Twitter. Or maybe you’ve stumbled on my Tumblr, which is kind of scary - but in a good way.

Just a little about me - I grew up on a cattle ranch in western Utah where I learned early how to make my own entertainment, which usually meant reading. Thanks to my fandom-minded family (which, they won’t admit to being “fandom-minded” unless I press them about it), I’ve spiraled out into tons of other things. It’s started when I was a kid with Mom instilling in me a love of all things Disney (my childhood dream was to meet Goofy, which I achieved about ten years ago), then Dad took us to see the Star Wars Special Edition in theaters. Harry Potter was my fandom gateway - it’s where I learned what online fandom was and all the different facets of fandom (both good and not-so-good). From there, I’ve spun-off into Lord of the Rings, Sailor Moon, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and, of course, Doctor Who, which I directly credit for all these great friends I’ve made (not to mention getting me into this podcasting business). My fandom list grows with every passing year - I’ve since added Avatar: The Last Airbender, Once Upon a Time, Person of Interest, Divergent, The Hunger Games, and Agents of SHIELD to my fandom repertoire (and we’d be here all day if I listed all of my book fandoms).

In my professional life, I’m a youth services librarian because, frankly, kids have cooler books. Being a librarian means that I get paid to do things like geek out over books with fellow book geeks who come looking for The Next Awesome Series, promote the library at Comic Con, help run the teen anime convention, read and nominate books for Utah’s Beehive Book Award for youth literature (it’s basically our version of the Caldecott and Newbery Awards, but much less stuffy). A NetGalley email once called me a “professional reader,” which is going on my business cards when I get them.

Holly

My Name is Holly. I live in Central Wisconsin. The fandom bug hit me at the tender age of three with Star Wars (thanks dad), and I haven't looked back since. When I mean fandom that should be fandoms plural. Science Fiction, Police Procedurals, comedies, be it TV, movies, or books. When I'm not reading, watching or writing about my favorite fandoms, I like to listen to music (a variety of genres) and spend time with my family. As for what I do non fandomwise,  I work as an Instructional Aide for my local school district. I'm fluent in Spanish. If you 'd like to follow me on these social sites feel free. Just let me know that you found my links through here.

Mich

Hi, my name’s Mich. I’ve been a geek for as long as I can remember, even if I didn’t always have a word for it. You can find me on social media. I’m most active on Tumblr (so don’t be afraid to come say hi!), but I do pop over to Twitter for the occasional Tweet-along (#FridayNightWho, #WhoWithFriends, #FlicksWithFriends, #DisneyWithFriends, etc.)

Rachel

Hi, I'm Rachel! I'm Indiana born and raised, home of the Colts, the Pacers, and the Indianapolis 500. Even though I'm a nerd, I also love sports including football, the Olympics, and NASCAR. I've always been geeky, with one of my earliest fandoms being the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I also grew up on all things Disney, a love that has grown infinitely to the point where I vacation to Walt Disney World yearly, I got married there, and I'm a certified Disney travel agent. Some of my other fandoms include Doctor Who, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit. During the day, I work in IT for a local university. In my spare time I also blog and have a YouTube channel.
